Just trying to get some info for some friends (and wake them up to reality...) Anybody know the dates of hire for the latest furloughs at Delta, United, American, Northwest, Continental, and USAir?

46 Driver;
i had to look in the archives and found some good news.....

"As you can see, we expect 1999 to be another blockbuster year. In our estimation, an additional 12-13 thousand new pilot jobs will be created in 1999."

It looks like UAL is around June 99 with 600 to 800 more by next year but if we have another year like 99 everyone in the industry will be back to work.

Most senior pilot furloughed from US Airways was hired 7-18-1988.

Continental Furloughs

The most Senior Continental furloughee is from June 98. I'm close behind being from the August 98 bunch. Most of the last group took the flow-down option at Continental Express.

As far as AA goes it's hard to guage by Date of hire because they have guys with 15 years seniority (former TWA) on the street and they are just now starting to furlough the "Native AA's" I think somewhere around Feb 2001 guys/gals with LOT'S more to come (approx 1500-2000 more)

Hawaiian currently has 97 on the street, back to November 1999. Another 49 are projected to be furloughed by the end of the year taking it back to March, 1999.
