Houston?

Trying to help a friend out ( or atleast try) who is currently looking to fly traffic watch/pipeline in Houston and cannot remember the companies who do this down there. Any info would be appreciated so I can pass it along. Tried the "search feature" and it didn't help much.

I have been out of the HOU loop for some time now.

Before 9-11, an old timer suggested that I look into pipeline flying, so I did a little research.

Duke Energy is the big dog, and after twenty or so calls, I found the right guy, whose name I don't recall.

He said that he had hundreds of qualified people with over 3,000 hours of flying just waiting to do this. I told him that I had been told that this was a low-pay, timebuilding job. He said it used to be so, but now the pay is better and the pilots like to be home every night. He said it is now a "sought after" job.

Barr Air Patrol used to do a lot of work around here, but just closed up most if not all of their operation in this area. Not sure who's picked up the slack.
