Does anybody know the pass/fail ratio in Houston for initial CFI? Any pros or cons?

Did mine there with Tom Munkhaugen (spelling?) Know your stuff but is very fair. My oral was 3 hours and 1 1/2 hour flight. I think they have an average pass/fail rate. Good luck man. Just be ready to teach and explain well..

3 and a half hours, that is more than fair. My CFI oral was an 7.5 hour ordeal. The FSDO I went to liked to do the oral in one day and the flight the next. And even if you do bust it, don't sweat it. Alot of people bust their inital CFI. The FAA has a quota to keep up! While its not fair its the truth.

geez you got it good at houston. OKC FSDO 7 hour oral and a 2.4 hour flight

not sure why it was only 3 hours. Others who had him said they went for 5-7 hours. 3 hours is not the average in Houston.. Just got lucky that day I guess!

This was here in Portland. The FSDO told my CFI at the time, to go find a DE. 45 min ground and 1.2 flight. I guess I just got lucky. One of the things I found interesting was that I had to teach a classroom full of people (about 30) that my examiner picked around the airport to site in, about short field landings.
