My parents had the pleasure of being JT's neighbor for a few years in Spruce. Simply put, JT and KP are two of the nicest celebs you would ever want to meet. What happened to them (with regards to his jet) was just sh!tty subdivision politics--anyone who has ever lived in a condo or gated community will know what I mean. There is always some wanker on the board of these places who thinks they were appointed by God.
A big thrill for me was meeting him again at VNY in '99--now a pilot in my own right. Sadly, that's where the similarities ended.
They have donated an ungodly sum of $$ to Riddle over the years, talked Tom Cruise into making a six figure donation a few years ago, and (pre-pulp fiction renaissance) he used to slide into the end booth at the Denny's on A1-A in South Daytona for a quick meal. Don't much understand this Scientology business, but then I'm a Catholic who doesn't understand Mel Gibson, either.
They still favor a place in Ormond Beach for dinner...if you can figure it out, you may get to meet him too.
