Hotels near SMO

So I always end up staying at airports near LAX when I land at SMO. Anyone had any luck with any hotels near the SMO Airport with restauraunts, etc within walking distance?

when we go to LAX we stay at the Manhattan Beach Marriott. Really nice in all respects.

Marina del Rey, close to the Venice Beach freak scene.

Marriott Marina del Rey is an excellent place to stay for either LAX or SMO. Lot's of nearby (good) restaurants, Venice beach pier, etc all within walking distance.

Try the Doubletree. Atlantic Aviation will drop the crew there and it is walking distance from both the beach and the main restaurant row.

Hit or miss on Atlantic taking you. It is a good location though and a cab is only about $12.

Go to Shutters just South of the Pier. A Fantastic hotel and an easy walk to Big Dean's for a beer and a burger.
