I am planning a trip to New York City this summer. Anyone have recommendations for hotels? I know there are alot up there, I am just seeing what nice ones you have all stayed at and would recommend. We are trying to stay near time square (not necessarily in Time Square, but that general area). Thanks for any info you can give me.

The Royalton is a great hotel on W44th- full of models and very few flight instructors (actually none) so, as I said, it is great.
I lived in Manhattan for 12 years and I either know or know somebody who knows, so PM me with your wishes and I shall try and make your wishes come true. Plus there are benefits for fellow 50 drivers!:)

checkout the Sheraton Manhatten. We stayed there in Aug 05 and got a crew rate of 175 a night. Large rooms for NYC. Its located at 51st and Broadway. about 4 blocks North of Times sq. great location and good folks.

RV

We stayed at the Marriott Times Square a few months ago. It was amazing. After years of staying at the Radisson Mildew...er Milford Plaza on overnights with the airlines I thought all Manhattan hotels were ratholes. The Marriott was fantastic!

Recommendation

I recommend the Wellington Hotel if you are looking for a decent but not expensive hotel near Times Square. I stay there every year and am happy, don't get me wrong its not the Marriot Marquis but neither is the bill at the end.

Rates begin at $159.00

any current updates on crew rates in manhattan? I'm looking to head up there for a weekend in November.

For a New York experience try the W near time square. It is a beautifully designed hotel, great service, but unfortunately not at a rate which crews like us have become accustomed.

I think designer Ian Schreger planned the hotel, great place!

I've only stayed at the Red Roof on 32nd St (just two blocks south of the ESB). There's a subway station a block away. The RR had pretty decent sized rooms, king beds, and a cont. breakfast for $150/night. I'm not sure if they have a crew rate, but their standard rates fluctuate pretty frequently.
