Horizon

If you had a choice between horizon or express jet, just wondering what you would choose. I know they both have thier advantages but i'm looking at getting back west and i know horizon is better for that but is the upgrade time worth it. And yes i'm a low time piot thinking about upgrade time so please no wise ass comments about how i'm being stupid even thinking about upgrae time. thanks for the help guys i really have no idea where to go out of all the regionals it seems that everyone will bash one regional or the next

Both are great companies. If I wanted to live on the west coast and stay with a company for fifteen years or so....work for Horizon. It appears to be a more "lifer" type airline.

ExpressJet is a great company also, but some may speculate that their future is a bit uncertain at the moment. I think they will be around for a long time.

If you are looking be a left seater anytime soon, go to ExpressJet. If stability and quality of life is more important than a quick upgrade, go to Horizon.

Either way, you will be fine.

I made the same decision just about 2 years ago. I went with ExpressJet and I'm happy with it - the 4 hour commute sucks but other than that it's a great place to work with a great contract, work rules, and people. PM if you have questions.
