With all due respect to UND grads, it's disappointing that Horizon believes UND grads are a better fit for their operation than current 121 pilots.

Oh well, life goes on.

Keeps the riff-raff out.

If it makes ya feel better, I did not get hired at Horizon. I went to UND. I had about 750 hrs back then in 2000.

I wouldn't go that far, I was hired at Horizon from another 121 airline. I am also a UND grad. But that didn't seem to get me hired since I had been applying here for two years and never was invited to any interviews open to UND alumni only. But as soon as I had some 121 jet time they called.

They say we are done hiring for the year. But I would guess at least 1-2 more classes by december.
Currently there are about 700 total pilots in the air group. I think since I have been hired there has been about 70-80 that have been hired below me.

Last time I checked there were about 2200 pilots in the air group--which by the way is Alaska and Horizon.:p

Poor Murdock. . . .It's probably just because they don't want to hire people with bad habits, or attitudes that have been hardened by the industry. No offense to Sioux115.

I'll only say this once, well ok not once, but really loud...

SIOUX SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is CLAU still strutting his stuff flying the diesel powered Navahog around or are the rumors true that the leads will get some DC8 time when NASA's bird gets to RDR??

Did I mention, SIOUX SUCK!!!!!!!!!!

I spent way too long instructing there, made some good friends and learned a lot, but I still haven't thawed out!

Charlie Brown's is still the best place to get a little tipsy at, if you are the adventours type!

LoL! I concur, sir.

Actually, the school (UND as a whole) was alright but I couldn't get out of Grand Forks fast enough. Haven't been back since and sure not planning on it anytime soon. The aviation department had it's share of idiotic, arrogant blowhards (here's looking at you, Skrammy...) & there's a certain holier-than-thou attitude about the place I couldn't stand. Still a decent program, but like I said...left ASAP & never looked back.
