Sparked by a similar thread on SkyWest, I was hoping someone could clarify the pay at Horizon.

I've heard that the first third of the seniority list gets 8-200 pay, middle third get 8-400 pay, while the top third gets CRJ700 pay regardless of equipment flown.

Is this accurate? Is the list divided as such, or are there other qualifying factors?

What is the average yearly gross for a 1st and 2nd year Horizonite?

Thanks.

Well, yes that's partially correct. It's not exactly divided into thirds... it depends on current staffing for that aircraft. Example: if they need 125 FOs to staff the 8-200, then the bottom 125 FOs get that pay rate no matter what equipment they are flying. Same for the other 2 aircraft. Since there are more 200s than any other aircraft (currently), the majority of FOs get the lowest pay rate. As more Q400s come on the property, that will change.

Its sort of like that. Its only like that for FO's and not just a simply one third split. Its based on the percentages of people on each airplane. So if you in theory had 100 FO's and 10 were on the jet, 20 on the 400, and the rest on the 200 the pay scale would have the top 10 guys on the seniority list getting jet pay, the next 20 getting 400 pay, the rest all 200 pay regardless of what they actually fly.

So moving up (or over) on the scale can happen through growth and attrition? Is there a list or something where you guys can keep tabs on where you stand on that scale?

The way it stands now, how long is it typically taking for a new hire FO to begin earning 400 pay?

There is an 'FO' list that you can reference. Most junior FO getting Q400 pay hired 11/2003. Most junior for jet pay: 12/2000.

Thanks all. That makes more sense now.

Can anybody chime in on the yearly 1st/2nd year gross and/or credit time?

Anyone mind to tell what you grossed with per diem the first and second year at horizon?

the first year pay there is higher than second year pay at many places.

First year: $23,000
Second year: $27,000

I think you left out per diem...
First year - $31,200
Second - $41,600
