I'm curious why Art was tapped to make public comments. Shouldn't that come from someone more, I dunno, reputable? 90% of our employees read that and said 'who's Art?' Also, for those not in the know, the 10% match for pilots is contractual. That won't be going away for new hires.

thats actually a false alarm for pilots. Someone on the internal IBT message board said that it was in the pilots CBA that the company will match up to 10%. Looks like the 6% is for other position newhires.

Really? I don't see that.

C. Retirement
The Horizon Air Savings Investment (401k) Plan will continue to be made available to
Pilots during the term of this Agreement.

Looks like it will get tied up in arbitration.

hey already are. See CBA 27.H.2.a -- quoted below.

2. Pilots may participate in the Company 401k Plan on the same basis as other employees.

a. If the specified employer matching contribution to the Company’s 401(k) plan is reduced to less than currently provided (100% match of the employee’s deferral up to 10% of covered pay), or if amendments are made to the Plan (other than amendments required to maintain the tax qualified status of the plan), the Union may elect to establish an alternate plan that continues the employer match and the pre-amendment plan terms (except with respect to legally required changes), provided that such plan is structured to meet any applicable legal requirements and creates no greater cost or liability for the Company than would have been the case if the pre-amendment plan had continued in effect. The Company will transfer all Pilot accounts to the alternate plan, if legally possible.

Found it. Thanks!

BTW, Skywest Pilots:

This is why you should have voted for ALPA!
