Haven't heard much about them as an airline...Any info???
Haven't heard much about em on FlightInfo? That can only be a good sign!
Yeah the footlong not on a mtx break is rare alright.....if they offer you the choice though take the jet. Better schedules and QOL. I just looked at some of the RJ schedules and there are some lines I can only dream about as a Dash dork. Remember at QX your are seat-locked for life as an fo unless your a/c is retired.

We serve Northwest Microbrews on the airplane.....FREE!! Nuff said.
Mmmmm that Snowplow is good.
Seems to be a place that is very stable and well-run. Pay is the best of any regional. Upgrade time is relatively long, but at least you'll have a good QOL while you wait. In my opinion, Horizon wins the QOL contest among the regionals, hands down. Good luck.
The pay is not the highest, the hourly rate may be but the overall pay is definitely not. You have to look deeper than arlinepilotcentral.com
Ok I'll bite. How do we improve?
We could start with the rigs and stop working for FREE. Also Sheduling completely takes advantage of us, and we will obviuosly need some language in our next contract to protect us and our pay.

I'm definitely not trying to stir the pot here, so don't take it that way. I'm honestly curious--how are you guys working for free and how is scheduling taking advantage of you? Somebody please 'splain it to me

I could write a book about this. For instance a trip I had last week paid on sheduled block 2028 well the actuall block we flew is 2155. I get paid 2028, stuff like that adds up. How about pulling back to the gate for MX, or a 30 hour sit. That is how we get screwed. As a line holder I compared my monthly income to a first year Skywest F.O. and I wasn't making that much more. I am just ranting because I keep hearing on this web board that we are the highest paid, we clearly aren't, but I am sure managment would want us to think so.
Well at Horizon if you fly 24 hours on a four day trip you get paid 24 hours even though it was scheduled for 22. Now if you have MX, WX or any flight cancel then you could get paid less than scheduled. We have rigs to protect you. They are 4 to 1 trip time, 2 to 1 duty, block and deadhead are 1 to 1. You are paid the higher of these per trip. If your a lineholder you are paid no less than 92 hours for a five week bid. The main problem occurs when you have a higher credit line, say 96 hours. If you drop to 93 hours due to efficient flying, wx, ect then you lose those 3 hours but will never drop below 92.
I thought the RJ lines were terrible, I can't imagine what you guys get.
Give me a break! What is so terrible about the RJ lines? Other than the fact it's an RJ?
on the dash it is hard to credit over 92 hours in a 35 day bid. you could pick up a trip here or there but the lines average 13 days when converted to a 30 day bid.
