I'm looking for this website I ran across awhile back about amateur built aircraft. It was established by a retired Delta captain and was very well organized. Basically, it was a "how to get started" tutorial and had all sorts of good articles on the different aspects of these aircraft.

Anyone know what I'm referring to?

Try this

You may be thinking of Ron Alexander, a former chief pilot for Delta, I think.

He used to own the Alexander Aeroplane Company but sold out to Aircraft Spruce and Specialty, Co. not too long ago.

Here's a link to some of his previous articles written for the EAA on the Zenithair site.

Here's his new company:

Run a search for him and you'll come up with all kinds of good stuff.

Hope this helps.:)
