Are there many places that hire pilots with 135 VFR minimums (500TT etc) versus Instrument mins? Obviously the instrument is much more useful to a company but are there places like this? Wouldnt this be rather limiting as far as the operation goes being dependant on weather? Just curious.

There are not a lot, and most vfr 135 operators are in locations where the weather is generally good all year. Most that i am familiar with are located in the tropics. Look around in the carribean islands, there are a couple in Belize as well.
 
Air Grand Canyon- thats on the South Rim(GCN)- 206/207's
American Aviation in PGA- 206/207's
King airlines in Henderson- 206/207's
King is the best bet but American should be good to. AGC is a good company, but the south rim blows.
 
Tropic and Maya Air in Belize. Try doing a search of companies in the carribean, there are a ton of small operations, many of which have websites. I vaguely recall a company in Idaho that had a VFR side to their 135 operation, but I can't be of any real assistance. They also had a website though. Log off of flight info for a couple hours, and do some searching on the web!
 
pipeline patrol

dont forget about pipeline patrols. usually contracted with the individual energy companies that own the pipes underground, and then that cheapo that got the contract buys a plane and gets someone to fly the route for him for a fraction of what the contract pays. yeah you can see the routes from the air. grass is discolored.

decent paying for flying single engine cardinals or whatever at a few hundred feet. these guys make something near 30 if not way over 30. but its all single engine vfr time. however it would be fun to do for a while for the total time and for the money to get you somewhere else later on in a hurry.

flew with a guy one day in the midwest, for 6 hours. lots of flying in a month. they load you up with a box of oil, fuel cards. pack your own lunch and water and go fly.
