Any pilots out there have both hips redone? How difficult was the recovery time, and how was it getting back on flying status with the FAA? Did this cause any problems at your interview for a flying job?

Do hip replacements set off airport metal detectors?

I think hip replacements are made of teflon material. I don't hink they're an issue with metal detectors.

My mom has had one for about 8 years now. She has a card that she carries should she ever set off the metal detector.
