Can anyone give me some info on Hillsboro aviation. I am going to be moving to Portland soon and need a CFI job or any job at a flight school. I have heard they require no dual given to be hired is that true.
Not sure about dual given requirements, but a friend of mine trained there and he said you won't get much flight time as a CFI there because they have so darned many of them.
They're also friggen expensive, but then I'm spoiled in that regard.
I live in Portland, and I fly out of Troutdale (TTD), which is about 20 miles to the east. Hillsboro Aviation (at HIO) is about 20 miles to the west. I've only been in there a couple of times, for charts and a book or two, but it definitely looks like a classy joint. As for the other FBO's in the Portland area, you might want to try these:
I don't know what the guy was smoking that told you there isn't much flight time to attain at Hillsboro. My first instructor went from about 300 to 1300 hours in a year and was hired and left lickity split.......it's very easy to get a lot of dual given there......there are a lot of instructors but there are also a butt load of students.
