Yeah I was just reading it right out of a source that uses guaranteed take home. I don't think it takes overtime into account. 18k per month sounds pretty nice.....

B1900FO,

True that. Our flying lines are built to 72 on average. 64 hrs. is your do absolutely nothing sit on your tail pay.

Hey Freight Dog,

Made it to the left seat yet? ;)

still wandering the frozen wasteland. HAL

Ha! I wish... naw, I'm in the -700 now.

Any chance of a recall soon? Don't freeze up there... I still owe ya beers!

6th yr SWA CA rate in '05 is $160.00/Trip

At 105 trips per month or 77hrs/Mnth.

$16,666.00 per month. That's $200,000 annually.

Remember that's a 6th year employee.

I'd have to look, but I think our top rate(12th year) at contract end is around $178.00/trip.

-----------//-----------//-----------//-----------//-----

$18,690.00/Mnth 12th year CA, contract end. Same trip total as above. $224,280 annually.

It's possible to run your trip totals up to 150 trips per month and still be within the FAR's. But then you'd have no life........

ILStoMins,

After reading my previous post, it does look a little confusing.

Maybe this will clarify some.

A 12 year CA in '06, flying 77 hours per month, shows to make $220,000+.

That's $18,333.00 per month.

Now this post looks confusing! Sorry, it's the whole trip for pay, contract ramp up stuff that makes it look that way.

If I'm reading your post right, SWA guys max out more than the FDX guys?

UPS

Just flew with a Capt who bids reserve and max's out the extra flying on his days off as much as possible. He didn't bat an eye when he told me he made 280K this year....knows guys that made more.

With the new pay scale in 06 we will have guys that will do the same and easily earn more than 350k a year.

I know its hard to believe but it is true.

But they will have no life.

You're right, that is hard to believe.

You're right, that is hard to believe.

175 bucks a trip times

165 trips a month times

12 months equals

$346,500 plus $8,000 perdiem equals

$354.500.

I said some guys. There are variables to have this potential down to the base your in.

When I started here and the average Captain salary was 140 grand a year, we had a few that earned 250 grand for flying.

But again...they had no life.

Why would I lie about something like this??

SWAdude:cool:

What SWAdude is trying to say is that there are folks who have learned to work the system, totally within the legal limits of the contract, who have made some real big $$$. A particular PHX captain comes to mind whose w2 for 2002 showed $339,000. Unfotunately, after he pays all his ex-wives he gets about $14.89.

It can be done!

Actually all i'm really trying to say is that in 06 we will have guys that will earn over 350 grand for the flying only. Not counting any options exercised.

And please don't open that can of worms. :) :( :D ;) :p    , that should cover all the different SWA pilot emotions about the options.

But I will be at a high paying major someday soon.

I'm not trying to be critical, but isn't the designator for Cessna 152 et al, C-152/C-172?!?!?! Enquiring minds and all that!

Details, I like details!

I never got to see the TAB FO posts. Are they funny? I would love to see them. I could use a laugh. It's funny that the more experience we get the more modest we become. Shouldn't it be the other way 'round?;)
