Sorry to get back on subject :D, but how is the ILS 21 approach into KROW a "widowmaker" ? No mountains around and its fairly flat. I just flew it on flightsim and its like any other approach - simple. Nearest "significant" elevation was maybe 100nm away.

I must be dense ;)

Matt,

As I understand it, it picked up that name because the approach was often included on the T38 checkride. Go back to your flight sim, run your airspeed up to around 320kts, and then fly the approach at that speed, slowing to around 210 kts after intercepting the localizer. If you still think it's easy, then obviously, the Air Force missed a hell of a pilot...

Well, since you asked. The folks at the FBO used to call it the Widowmaker. They had t-shirts and mugs for sale for the military guys that did it during UPT.

Yes, I have a better idea than your flightsim experience. Yes, you should personally go fly there, rent a jet and give it a shot. Yes, you're still an redneck dumbass.

Bon nuit.

Just curious ... does your hatred for me stem from the French thread in the YGBSM forum? If so, your pretty pathetic.... a pathetic frenchie.

Thanks for the explanation V4F. I still think its pretty straight forward, but oh well. And yes, i know, the airforce did miss a great pilot in me, they just don't know it yet :D

Yep, they missed out with matt. Would love to see him flail in a -38 trying this approach.

You forgot to mention that if he's going to play widowmaker on the sim, not to do it in a glass cockpit with an autopilot. Fly by hand young man.

I don't like you because you manage to drag every thread into your little right-wing world.

"If you are like 100LL, you can also put a political twist on it. The LEFTies are evil, thus on the Dark side"

This wasn't a political thread, I was just looking to see if anyone had the approach plate. Thanks for your input though.

I'm starting to worry about you. I know this great place where they will take excellent care of you. You won't have to worry about a thing.

Anyway, i think you are confusing me with 100LL. Try to find one thread that fits your little quote above. Good luck. As i've said... your pretty pathetic.

With all these assumptions, your starting to make an as,s out of yourself. But i'm sure you noticed that.
