SkyWest,

I sincerely hope you know Mr. Sanchez personally or at least had his permission to post his parents' address on a public forum -- otherwise you have left yourself open to some MAJOR legal liability if anything unpleasant associated with your disclosure of said address occurs. Not a very smart thing to do unless you've got deep pockets.

Just a thought,

Lowering the bar......

Hey All,
--Searching, you are on the money, these threads end up being way too serious, I love to see guys breaking their backs bending over themselves.

Sedona16, where did I come across as an ignorant jack-ass? And how are you not an ignorant jack-ass? How would me leaving Skywest raise the bar? What bar, anyway?
If your level of dignity is based on your job, and an ignorant jackass like me can threaten it, then maybe you should re-evaluate how you define dignity.
I hope I am not working for any airline 20 years from now, I don't think I can stand the thought of 39 more 6-month sim checks, 39 more worthless medical exams, etc.......
I honestly think I am one of the worst pilots out there. There are hundreds of books and volumes and tons of flight dynamics, interrelationships, etc... that I just don't understand, and frankly don't have the time to bother with. I tried to work my way thru Van Sickle's Modern Airmanship and I just gave up. If anyone has read that book cover to cover and understands everything in it, I salute you.
I'm sorry you have only posted 5 times, and wasted one of them on me.

Russ, if you try to have safety as your #1 priority, you would never get off the ground. Do you always have the most current WX, have you actually checked the weight and balance numbers that MX generates, how do you really know that all MX was properly performed, how do you know that the company is really following all FAA directives, what is the actual weight of the bags in the cargo compartment, etc.... the list is endless.
Instead of getting caught up in all that, I kinda take it for a given, and make sure my crew is having a good day at work. If the FO and FA are having a good day, chances are I am having a good day too.
I am for sure the first to say that I don't follow SOP to the letter, mostly because the SOP can't cover every situation. I want my crew to use their brains to work thru a problem, not just some memorized procedure that might not be the best thing to do.
If anyone thinks that I am a real safety threat, I would encourage that person to call my chief pilot, Tony H. The life you save may be mine.

robert sanchez
PS I use the 'snatchez' name sometimes, because that was the nickname some friends gave me many years ago, and I like it.

good point....

Hey All and Morgoth,
thanks for pointing out that concept. I'm not sure how my name would come up under my parent's address, except from Skywestonline.com. I use their address for mail, since I work for an airline and I need a consistent place to get junk mail. I wonder if the IT department could do a scan to see who did a search of my name yesterday. This may be very interesting.......

Snatchez,

[Sedona16,...I'm sorry you have only posted 5 times, and wasted one of them on me.]

That is probably one of the funniest things I've seen you write.

Enjoyed flying with you. One of the best Captains I've had. (no pun intended.)

Keep up the good work,

KG

Well, for better or for worse, this info IS available to the public through a number of online sources. I believe FAA.gov has a section to search all pilot certs but the easiest is www.landings.com. On the bottom of the page under "databases," select "pilots" under certifications, and as long as you know the name, or even a partial name, you can get the address on the cert of all pilots, A&P's, etc. There is no way to block this information so I'm amazed some more high-profile types (J. Travolta, H. Ford) have not objected.

Perhaps like most things with the FAA, someone needs to die first before a (usually overreacting) change is made.

the infamous mr. sanchez

one of the funnest guys i ever flown with. hey sanchez, time to bid the 70 - two flight attendents, your odds just doubled!!

Pre-Start Check - ahhhh isn't it your leg, again???

For those of you thinking that Mr Sanchez is certifiably insane, I'll tell you this...he is just a tad weird, but he also goes extremely heavy on the sarcasm. He's really not as dumb as he would have you believe.

I spent a month flying with him when I was a new pup of a captain, and he was a new pup of an FO....had a great time, spent the entire month laughing our a$$es off. The FA had to close the cockpit door to do her 'welcome aboard' PA... the pax would ignore her while trying to listen to us laughing up front and having fun. And you know what? We never crashed one airplane or killed one passenger. Like Ernie Gann wrote, self-preservation is the #1 goal... if I get the crew there safely, the pax get there safely too. It is possible to combine a safe operation with a lot of humor to help the month fly by. Some crews take things way too seriously and suck the fun right out of the job.

nice try

Hey Skywest,
why don't you try posting the real message I sent you? I did use one bad word, s h i t.
I'm not the kind of guy that would hide and attack your stuff, I would go for you legally (that kind of stuff follows you for a long time).
I'm also not the kind of guy that hides my name. I say what I say, and I sign my name.
enjoy hiding in the darkness!

whoop-de-do

Skywestwhore, aka Leroy.

I found you in a couple of places on the WORLD WIDE WEB (this took me 1 minute):

Go to:
Landings.com and under database / pilots type in yo name and check first class medical.
Mapquest.com - the address and map,
anywho.com - most of the neighbors on the street with phone #'s
Google.com and put yo name in there with ****.

I cannot say I am for you or against you ( really dont care ) but if it is too hot for you in the "internet kitchen", well, you know the answer - BTW, 'Yo did ask why most people do not sign their posts, right.........?????????

Is it the username"Skywest" who is not protecting 'yo family, or 'yoself?

This aint rocket science, hoss.

good point, MT

Hey All and MT,
yeah, I checked out the landings website, cool but scary all that info is there.
I did find a neat feature on FlightInfo, you can put some one on an ignore list! Now it's really funny, 'cause I can see Skywest put up a post, but I can't see the post! It's kinda like having someone who is annoying yelling at you, but with no sound coming out of their mouth.
Anyway,

pardon me?

Hey Skywest,
I'm sorry, did you say something? I can't hear you!
I love this!!!!!
I have got to block a couple other people also, this is wonderful.
