Hey All,
I am just happy to finally find a place on the internet where intelligent, thoughtful, and respectful conversations can take place. What a breath of fresh air compared to some of the other aviation boards, where some people use it as a personal soapbox, vomiting bad ideas and opinions at other people, just to help them feel better about their lack of self-worth.
You may have guessed that I work at SkyCrap, I mean SkyWorst, I mean Skywest! This is my third airline (the first two tanked) and I am mostly very happy here.
Anyway, I just wanted to say HI!

robert sanchez

Well, actually.....

Hey All and Skywest,
I am not anti-union. If the union drive had been organized by ALPA (I know, I know) I would have voted for it. If I am going to pay for represention, I want to have pros doing it.
I was and am against paying for amateurs to represent me. The learning curve UPA would have had would be painful for a couple of years minimum. I get SAPA representation for free, and they do a good enough job for free.

robert sanchez
PS, why doesn't everyone sign their own name at the end of their posts, instead of trying to hid?

Maybe I'me falling for flamebait.....

I won't even touch your anti-union sentiments. It takes everal steps and your was the first......alas we shall never know

As far as signing your own name I would think with your strong anti-skywest attitude and the fact you sign your own name you shall be on your 4th airline pretty soon.

See, you don't have a union to represent you when your superiors read this stuff!!!

I dont think anyone has posted more anti-union stuff or spent more time on the SkywestBBS then Rob Snatchez as he calls himself. That is besides the SAPA guys themselves of course!

Bye the way you had the option of voting for ALPA -did you?

(In my best Old West accent)...You're not from around here, are you?

Apparently Capt. Sanchez discovered the internet a few months ago and has been amusing, confusing and generally offending his fellow pilots on the SkyWest Forums ever since.

More than one has suggested he check his meds.

Now it appears he has discovered flightinfo.

Oh boy, this should be fun...

wow, this is cool!

Hey All and Skywest,
if you're going to publish my parent's address, maybe you should ask them.......
But I digress: why does being against UPA make me anti-union? I don't like Harleys, but I do like other motorcycles.
My brother is ALPA at a major, and ALPA has been a great help to him several times, namely for a medical disability he had.

And Trip, correct me if I'm wrong, but for the vote, if UPA got a couple more votes than ALPA, and there were more total votes for union than against union, wouldn't UPA win? That is the reason I didn't vote for any union. Plus, the union drive wasn't sponored by ALPA, it was by UPA.
MCKPickle, I realize I'm stupid, but how is UPA not representing Skywest pilots going to put Skywest out of business? Plus, I like Skywest, I hope I never have to apply for a pilot job EVER again. I plan on being at Skywest a long time......

Maybe some of you are a little confused about my signon name, I got it from afellowaviator, it seemed cute.

You guys are funny!

Whats in a name

Just because one signs their name at the bottom of their post does not mean that they are providing accurate and verifable information. One might be posting in an attempt to masquerade as another. I personally believe that this does not happen because more people are not naughty but nice.

Sincerely

Santa Claus

I never was sure of your position on the union issue. Not because you didn't post enough. Mainly because in what you did post it was childish nonsense. Your last post was the closest thing to a lucid thought you have put on the internet. I talked with a few FO's about you. They say your a good pilot thankfully, just wierd at times. Not to mention the last party you had scared a few FA's. I honestly worried you might truly be off your rocker, now I figure its some sort of act.

Hey All and Russ,
I can't help but be a little confused by your last post.

I never was sure of your position on the union issue
I don't think I could have been clearer, I was against UPA, but for an existing union (ALPA, etc....) if we did vote in a union. I just didn't want my money going to a union that didn't really even exist-- no governing body, no official position on any issues, etc....UPA just wasn't prepared enough before the union vote for me to have any confidence in their ability to be prepared after the vote, to represent me well enough for +2% of my paycheck.

I talked with a few FO's about you. They say your a good pilot thankfully, just wierd at times
I respectfully disagree with you, I don't think any FO I've flown with would know if I were a good pilot or not. I usually don't fly any legs if I can help it, I have let (made) FOs fly every leg for a 4 day trip. I can talk on the radio kinda okay as far as they would know, but very few FOs have actually seen me holding the yoke.
And am I weird most of the time, compared to a 'normal' captain, because I don't agree with the whole 'captain/first officer' concept. I much prefer to just be a couple of pilots flying together for the day, with having fun being the #1 priority.

Not to mention the last party you had scared a few FA's
Hey, if I can't get some FAs a little scared at a party, then I am losing my touch. And no one I have personally invited to any party here wasn't informed in advance that clothing was optional in the spa.

I honestly worried you might truly be off your rocker, now I figure its some sort of act.
No, I pretty much am off my rocker. I'm 40 years old, balding, fat, getting divorced, paying way too much in child support/alimony, renting a room in a house, really wishing I were building 4-door classic broncos for a career but I'm too stupid, I mean what else can I say? I've failed 2 checkrides in my life, and both of them were here at Skywest, and yet they didn't fire me, but went out of their way to bring me back up to speed, in a very cool way.
I hope Skywest has a long and profitable future, and I want to be a part of it until I can figure a way out of the whole aviation industry. I like flying planes, but I don't really working for an airline. My problem is that I am too stupid to do anything else.

Sanchez is a weenie

Sanchez you need to get a life. Entertaining yourself is one thing but getting onto forums as an ignorant jack-ass is another thing. Get lost, quit flying and leave Skywest allowing some of the rest of us to raise the bar and have at least a little dignity!

Very well, I defer to expert analysis on your flying abilities.

"I don't agree with the whole 'captain/first officer' concept. I much prefer to just be a couple of pilots flying together for the day, with having fun being the #1 priority"

All this time I thought safety was the number one priority.

"My problem is that I am too stupid to do anything else"

Roger that.

SkyWest,

I sincerely hope you know Mr. Sanchez personally or at least had his permission to post his parents' address on a public forum -- otherwise you have left yourself open to some MAJOR legal liability if anything unpleasant associated with your disclosure of said address occurs. Not a very smart thing to do unless you've got deep pockets.

Just a thought,

Lowering the bar......

Hey All,
--Searching, you are on the money, these threads end up being way too serious, I love to see guys breaking their backs bending over themselves.

Sedona16, where did I come across as an ignorant jack-ass? And how are you not an ignorant jack-ass? How would me leaving Skywest raise the bar? What bar, anyway?
If your level of dignity is based on your job, and an ignorant jackass like me can threaten it, then maybe you should re-evaluate how you define dignity.
I hope I am not working for any airline 20 years from now, I don't think I can stand the thought of 39 more 6-month sim checks, 39 more worthless medical exams, etc.......
I honestly think I am one of the worst pilots out there. There are hundreds of books and volumes and tons of flight dynamics, interrelationships, etc... that I just don't understand, and frankly don't have the time to bother with. I tried to work my way thru Van Sickle's Modern Airmanship and I just gave up. If anyone has read that book cover to cover and understands everything in it, I salute you.
I'm sorry you have only posted 5 times, and wasted one of them on me.

Russ, if you try to have safety as your #1 priority, you would never get off the ground. Do you always have the most current WX, have you actually checked the weight and balance numbers that MX generates, how do you really know that all MX was properly performed, how do you know that the company is really following all FAA directives, what is the actual weight of the bags in the cargo compartment, etc.... the list is endless.
Instead of getting caught up in all that, I kinda take it for a given, and make sure my crew is having a good day at work. If the FO and FA are having a good day, chances are I am having a good day too.
I am for sure the first to say that I don't follow SOP to the letter, mostly because the SOP can't cover every situation. I want my crew to use their brains to work thru a problem, not just some memorized procedure that might not be the best thing to do.
If anyone thinks that I am a real safety threat, I would encourage that person to call my chief pilot, Tony H. The life you save may be mine.
later,
robert sanchez
PS I use the 'snatchez' name sometimes, because that was the nickname some friends gave me many years ago, and I like it.

good point....

Hey All and Morgoth,
thanks for pointing out that concept. I'm not sure how my name would come up under my parent's address, except from Skywestonline.com. I use their address for mail, since I work for an airline and I need a consistent place to get junk mail. I wonder if the IT department could do a scan to see who did a search of my name yesterday. This may be very interesting.......

robert sanchez

Snatchez,

[Sedona16,...I'm sorry you have only posted 5 times, and wasted one of them on me.]

That is probably one of the funniest things I've seen you write.

Enjoyed flying with you. One of the best Captains I've had. (no pun intended.)

Keep up the good work,

KG
