Re: When's the next round?

So for those of us that didn't get the call. When is jetBlue pulling names for the next set of interviews. 4-6 weeks?
(I recall something about upgrade training slowing down the flow of new hires after the September round).

I believe the next Interview date is 10/15/03. It might be the 22nd but I think it's the 15th. They try to pull the names and notify the candidates about a month ahead if possible. That is not cast in stone as there is always exceptions.

The flow is supposed to slow down because of what you said regarding upgrades and such. As it stands now, there are no new hire classes for November and December, but, that is always subject to change.

Hope that helped.

Eagleflip,

Quick side note: Our new neighbors are the parents of a former sqdn stick buddy of yours. Lee A. I think is the name. His Dad was in the A-12 business. Very cool. Anyway, he said you were the slacker we know you to be. Said he could fly circles around you and then it got even worse. I can't even write about it without associated trauma.

Anyway, you are correct. The official policy is to let the names come to the top of the search. Hypothetically, if during the "finalization" process, 2 interview slots remain and 10 candidates are left to choose from, those with JB recs will get the nod for the interview over those who don't have any. However, and that's a big one, this happens infrequently.

OK, back to supervising the U-Haul placement at the new house.

Happy landings

Hey Guys,
thanks for the info. I still have a problem with it since I was told that LOR's can't decide who gets an interview. The scenario regarding a tie breaker when two resumes are comparable seems logical. I will see Dean in the next week or so, so I promise to clarify this and put it on the board.

I would again emphasize that the quality of the LOR is critical. Internal recommendations from people you really don't know are pretty useless unless you start engaging in ficticious license (pretty much violates all the Blue values you are claiming to hold close to your heart). The idea that I'm trying to dispell is that an internal recommendation from anyone at Jetblue gives you a leg up on everyone else. I don't belive this to be true at all. I still believe that you go with who you know. If they happen to work at Jetblue, fine. If not, that's fine, too.

Thanks

Hey,

I have to second what Azdriver said. I can't believe what a bunch of great people JB has hired. I asked a simple question, and even though you guys might disagree with each other a little bit, you all took time to respond to a guy you don't even know. I appreciate the concern and really hope to work with you someday.

Thanks again,

Stank

By the way, I'm reading through all of my old log pages trying to find someone I flew with who's now at JB. No luck yet.

I just had my interview Sept 10 and am awaiting news of Phase one. I don't know what got me to this point; 8000+TT, 4500 PIC, typed GIV, Hawker, Falcon 50, Beech 350 and 1900. SIC in Fokker 100 and BAe 146. Did my online application in November 2002 and never updated, as I got a great job shortly after. However, I am really excited about the JB opportunities. Did you manage to get your hands on a seniority list? I would like to see if there is anyone there that I have flown with. Thanks.

Thanks to everyone who corrected me on the internal LOR. I spoke with the right person, and he verified that the internal LOR is looked at after the computer comes up with the list of names of people being considered for an interview. It could therefore, help you beat out someone without one (in theory). I still stick by what I said regarding the quality of the recommendation. If you get one from someone you don't know, it really could call into question your values. That's not a good scenario.
