Hey guy's/gal's I'm an Expressjet guy living in Dallas and I'm looking for someone around here that does crew taxes around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. There's a guy in Houston that comes highly recomended but I'm not really keen on the distance factor. Let me know if you have any recomendations. Thanks, Tom

theres these guys called h&r block. they're pretty good at taxes and cheap too. chop chop, only a month and a half left.

Buy TurboTax and do your own. It's not that hard once you do a little research and you'll have a much better feel for how to maximize your deductions and how other things affect taxes.

if you use h&r blocks software, they will assist in an audit versus no assistance with turbotax. but then again, we're regional airline pilots, we're pennies on the dollar for the irs, so i expect no audits.

I apreciate the input but I'm looking for a specialist that is worth the money you pay them in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I feel like I would leave to much on the table using a generic program.

turbotax is great unless you are trying to maximize your schedule A deductions using your M&IE per-diem and related expenses. I dont think it can calculate that stuff.

you're a regional CA/FO right? we're talking about $500 max difference here. an education in taxes would serve you for life.

no, but microsoft excel easily can. it ain't rocket science.

Just use Enzi, hes priced well and hes also an XJT pilot. I dont mind paying 150 or 200 bucks to have the peace of mind of having a CPA/tax attorney stand behind me if I ever get audited(which if I did my own taxes im positive would happen). I dont personally use his services because I have a guy who does them in STL, but I live in houston and have them done a few states away so whats the deal with having them done in houston(where you are probably based) even though you live in DFW?
