I was there 1998-00 BUR Pa32, 31, BE99. Hated it at the time. Looking back it wasn't that bad. I'd love to have the back half of the split working 3 days a week right now.

Ameriflight has a daily flight that goes through Prescott. Departs PHX sometime around 6:30am? It also stops in Prescott in the evenings around 6:15pm and gets back into PHX around 7pm.

Flew 99's out of BIL '00-'01. Overall a great place to work, except for low pay which doesn't include per-diem while at your outstation. Flying the '99 was a blast!!

I enjoyed it and thought it was a pretty good place to work. Compared to another 135 outfit I worked for it was night and day. Mx was good and as long as you showed up on time and did your job nobody seemed to bother you.

Flew the 99 and 1900 from out of SLC from '98 to '00. Left there and flew the Emb120 at Skywest, then the DC9 at Midwest Express (now Midwest), and currently fly my Camry and work a desk job on furlough. Amflight was fun, but the days often 15+ hours (16 for me with travel to/from the airport) were too long (and no per diem), and I hated loading/unloading in 10 degree weather. I wonder what they're paying those guys now? If you broke it down per hour its only $9-10 per hour (75 hours per week = approx 300 hours per month pay 2700-3000 month...approx). Pretty easy to pay off flight school, college loans, mortgage, car payments etc on $9 bucks and hour. Still a lot better than my take home pay at Skywest, however. Good Luck.

I just got the March '04 issue of Airways magazine. There's actually a 5 page article on Ameriflight. There are several pics of a BE-99, SA-227, PA-31, PA-32, and a rather cool route map. I had no idea AMF flew into so many tiny towns out west. Fun places like Weed CA and Bendover UT (scangadah's favorite UT city). The only dorky thing is the photo of the guys using the AMF ATC simulator...do they really have to wear their 4 stripes while in the sim? (I know, it's just for the photgrapher)

Looks liked all you guys had fun at AMF

But my friend got killed last Wednesday at AMF.
Looks like 2months in a row. Metro crash and Lance crash.
It has been fun place for those who survived and got better
job at better airlines. But remember there are still many people
suffering from bad pay and schedule at AMF.

Loved AMF

I spent my time at AMF flying the Metro usually out of DFW. That double turn would wear you down after a while, but I look back with fond memories. I thought Dave Price and Tom Geddes were both great guys. I now fly a private Merlin IIIB out of Houston. I get paid a decent full time salary to fly approx 300 hours a year to places like Belize, Costa Rica, Jamaica, New Orleans, Cabo.. and the list keeps on coming. I got what I wanted out of flying and AMF helped me on my way. No place is perfect, but I am thankful to AMF.
