Description
Chief Pilot for Hewlett-Packard Company's Aviation Department. As Chief Pilot, the individual is reponsible for the Flight Operations segment of this business. The person hired for this position will develop and implement flight operational policies that include standards, procedures and documentation in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the aircraft manufacturer and company guidelines in order to provide for a safe, efficient and cost-effective flight operation. The Chief Pilot is responsible for the direct management of the Assistant Chief Pilot/Training Standards Officer, 20 full-time pilots, four flight attendants and contract crews operating in both domestic and international environments. This individual assumes the duties of a flight crewmember in order to evaluate flight operations performance and provide support for on-demand flight activity. The Chief Pilot recruits, selects, trains and evaluates staff performance, administers wages and salaries, establishes budgets and targets for the assigned area of responsibility and determines assignments and changes to employee status in accordance with HP policy. In addition to these core duties, the individual establishes a professional working relationship with the FAA and represents HP Aviation on flight operational issues to the appropriate contacts within the corporate aviation community."
