I'm confused as to why this was moved. How does talking about the different policies that flight crews have to deal with while trying to do our job appy to general aviation info? Now I agree it doesn't apply ONLY to the regionals, but it seemed to make more sense than having it here.

You mean as dumb as? Anyway, try getting into the food court at the ISP "commercial terminal" after you have just parked your private jet at the FBO next door and just want to have a quick bite. No can do. You don't have a boarding pass! We ended up walking back to the FBO and the FBO folks kindly drove us to a nearby, off-airport eatery. (It was the FBO which had suggested the food court.) This is NOT the worst experience I've had with TSA. I'd rather not get into those stories here. But the original post was about food, so keeping it on topic. You certainly don't want a couple of ATP Citation drivers walking around your terminal, dangerously infiltrating the food court, now do you?

The TSA just may have saved you in this case. Apparently you have never eaten or were warned about eating at the ISP terminal restraunt.

If its not the $6 petrafied hotdog or $8 slice of dried pizza at the counter downstairs the super greasy rubin with 3 day old french fries at the dinner upstairs will do you in.

Just go to that greek dinner down the road - your on long island for god sakes - its law that you have to eat at a dinner.

This doesn't apply to commercial ops but when I rent a plane, I have an escort walk me to the plane but when I get back from flying, I am free to walk back without any supervision. I'm guessing that since I didn't fly the plane into something, they must assume I'm OK.

Don't forget the bucket next to the coffee cream station, to dump your "unwanted" coffee. :0 After catching a whiff of the bucket, it's all unwanted coffee. Uggh.

He may be talking about the food court in the new SWA terminal, though, which actually isn't too bad. It's run by Anton Airfoods, and includes an A&W, a pizza place, some "Irish" pub, and another place I can't recall.

But if you have enough time, you can do much better:

Exactly. The Towers Diner, right at the end of the airport access road, is great stuff. Been there many times, and an easy walk in all but the worst conditions.
