To all Vangaurd pilots, if it is true that the airline is shutting down, I am sorry. If it is then you have an opportunity to pick up a type rating with the help of the Workforce Investment Act that retrains displaced workers. A lot of the Midway guys went through this program along with other furloughed pilots from other airlines. Shari Egan at Flight Training International in Denver seems to be the expert on how to get the funding and who you need to apply with. Most people are getting 737 types to try for South West or A320 types to try for jet blue. She can help you with both. Also if you are current on the 737, you might be able to do a short course. Call Shari and get working on it befor the WIA office gets flooded. Her number is (303) 329-0999.

Good Luck

Spoake with Shari again today. Alot of Vangaurd pilots are getting the word out about the WIA funding and the Missouri office is preparing for them. FTI was already approved in that state so this has made it easier for the Vangaurd pilots to get into the system quicker.

Good Luck
