Can anyone tell me what the universal hand signal is to indicate to a helicopter that it is safe to land in a given location? I did a general search and it seems like there are a variety of signals used, such as both arms stretched straight over head, or both arms stretched low crossing in front of lower torso, etc.
Which is most common and widely recognized by SAR helicopters, etc.? I am aware of the back into the wind part.
