What is the consensus on what the majors use for hearing standards or tests during the hiring process. Do they use the flight surgeon whispering across the room or the audiometer? How common is it to fail? I just maxed out my AF hearing test (higher is better right?).

First time I have ever heard the computer guy say "Is anyone still there" and "You are pushing the buttons with no tones present" on the same test.
