Sorry if this has been asked, but I used the search function to no avail. If selected at Hawaiian, is the training in HNL or SEA (heard from a source)? Secondly, is lodging provided during training and what is the pay during training? Thank you to all who answer.

Ground School is in HNL, 717 and 767 sim is in SEA, the A330 sim is in MIA. You are not provided lodging in HNL, since that would be your base. You do get hotel and per-diem during the sim periods. Pay during the first year is $36 per hour. I know there's a minimum guarantee of 75 hours when you're on the schedule, but I think a full month of training pays more - something like 90 hours. Maybe Dan Roman or Hansoma can correct me.

Thanks HAL..Im elated at such an opportunity. Any idea how long indoc/systems/ground school is in HNL for budgeting purposes?

This is all a little fuzzy, since I have only heard it second-hand from some new-hires. But company indoc is about 1 week, and aircraft systems is 2 weeks. Initial sim is about 2 weeks, and the if you're on the 767 or 330 you come back to HNL for a couple of days of internations ops classes. So overall, about 5 weeks of class before you get to IOE. Been through Phase 3? Do you have a class date?

I want a call too! The only company that Id move for!!!

Sounds about right to me. Welcome aboard!

I used the Maleia (sp??) Skytowers, $68 a night, and used VIP transportation shuttle service. Told them I was airline and its like 18 bucks round trip each time to hotel and back to the airport....The Maleia is just on the western edge of Waikiki, one street back off the main drag. Nothing overly fancy, very clean, just dated.
