Happy New Y....I mean, Century of Flight!!! <noise makers, etc>
Those two bros knew that 100 years to the day they would be getting my tired self out of a nice, WARM bed occupied by a d@mn fine lookin' woman, at 4am for a 5am show just so I can go spend the day in <expletive> Detroit City (DET).
And I couldn't be happier!

We've come a long way...I wonder what the next 50 yrs have in store (I won't be around for another 100)?!

I read that the recreation flight is postponed until 2 PM. Hope all goes well for them.
A great day!!

"Blue Skies"............

Congratulations everyone on being part of the first 100 years.

FOX News will be airing a live re-enactment of the first flight in just a few minutes. They will be flying an exact replica of the Wright Flyer. A little wet out there, but it will be very exciting to watch nonetheless!!!

Happy 100 years!

Well, the flyer never got airborne.... what a shame, the front lifted then almost appeared to stall just prior to the tail lifting off, dipping the right wing into the mud/water at the end.

Supposedly, they needed 10kts of wind which they had as he started rolling but the wind slowed to 6-7 knots which prevented him from lifting off. What a shame. They will make a decision shortly if they will attempt another flight in a few hours.
