I'm moving from S. Texas to NYC later this summer. I have a Cessna 140 that will need to be in a hangar. I'm prepared to get crushed on rent but am trying to minimize the pain. I will have access to a car and would be willing to drive a reasonable distance (prefer @ 1 hr) to get there. My girlfriend's family has a house in Bayhead, NJ so someplace close to that would work as well. I am more than willing to share a hangar as well. Thanks. Any suggestions?

I spent a month in NYC a couple of years ago, and the cheapest place to keep my plane was up in Bridgeport, NY. Outside, it was free. They had lots of hangars, but I was in and out about once a week, and the weather was nice, so I didn't inquire about hangar. Quick ride on Metro-North, short $5 (probably $10 now) cab ride from the train station.

Very nice folks, lots of GA airplanes on the ramp.

I know it's the wrong direction for you, but I would give them a call.
Its KBDR, and the place was http://www.threewing.com/

Good luck in the Big Apple
