What makes you think Hawaiian is any different from any other airline that buys new aircraft? Actually the economics are similar to when Hawaiian went from older DC-10's to new 767's. The lower maintenance costs and improved fuel burn more than paid for the airplanes. By all accounts they got a good deal on buying these airplanes. The bottom line is the airline is doing very well right now, but the only thing for sure is no one knows what will happen in the future.
