Had my first excitement in the cockpit

I had this happen in a Pawnee once. Couldn't get the power to go below about 1400 RPM. Killed off a couple hundred RPM by switching off a mag and pulling carb heat, made a slightly fast wheel landing, and shut off the engine once I was rolling.

Coasted to a taxiway and braked to a stop, then fired the engine back up (engine roared to >1400 RPM instantly), then slowly rode the brakes to the ramp...where the throttle linkage was later found to have failed somehow...

Better to have a little too much power than too little I guess.
 
...interesting, i had one fail on an F33 and it went wide open ;)
