Yet another reason to always have some zip ties where the FA's can get to them.

Our little RJ's have 2 sets of Zip-tie like hand cuff's (flexi-cuff's?), that are kept in a set location. I would be suprised if other airlines do not have something similar on-board.

Actually, he wasn't only nut job terrorist, he was a US serviceman.

Thank goodness the constitution protects us from them as rule, but once in a while one them forgets where they are.

Iraq vet causes airline scare
Source: AP
TAMPA, Fla. -- A frightening incident on a New York-to-Florida flight, where passengers tackled another flier they said rammed the cockpit door.

And it turns out the suspect is a U.S. Army solider who served in Iraq.

This happened Thursday night on a Delta flight to Tampa, where an airport spokeswoman said the soldier is in custody. Authorities are using a state law that lets them hold someone without charges if they pose a threat.

She said the soldier's brother told investigators he has mental problems related to his military service. But the spokeswoman adds there's no evidence he meant to harm anyone on the flight.

Still, one passenger describes the soldier as behaving oddly by tapping people on the shoulder and pointing to his tattoos. About five minutes before landing, he said the soldier got up and ran down the aisle like he was "in a track meet."

i heard a story that over 300 servicemen and women in Iraq have been executed for various reasons, mental illnesses, speaking out against the war, etc. and the people coming back while the GOP has cut VA funding are in for a horrible surprise as well. food for thought
