K-Mart said:125 million should cover the cost for one engine on the F-22. Do the math and thats 250 million for both engines. Problem is, engines don't fly without wings. Wanna guess which airplane would probably have more operational impact????
We'll get the budget for the kids on the ground. The CAS capability of AC-130s vs the JSF/F22 is a no brainer. While air supremacy is a primary goal, without the ability to support the grunts with big guns and precision ordnance, air supremacy alone is a strategic and tactical dead end. Due to high development costs, there will simply not be enough F-35s/F-22s to give our guys the tac air support they need to deal with the bad guys. The AC is the proven winner. The SpecOps thought leadership guiding the DOD recognizes that.
