Don't he look FEROCIOUS!?

woof

I'm all for having dogs around, my wife and I have two yellow labs. Have you ever considered a security system? We have had one for about six months and my wife feels much safer at home. I think we pay about $30 per month and i think there was about a $150 installation fee. If you and your wife are to busy to take care of dog this might be another option.

supsup

Have you considered getting your wife a cock? Those things will peck the hell outta someone. Also, no one will mess with her if she is jogging with a cock on a leash.

Man, I'm not even touching that one.......

Both thumps up to silky terriers... about nine-ten pounds.
They are very intelligent, can be used to lead the blind. Don't see them small, they have tough bones.

I kept a silky terrier before. She died of old age a few years back. Best dog i ever had! I currently own a jack russell terrier. She can't compare to the silky terrier though.

The silky terrier i have, she just too great! A real companion and a wonderful bodyguard! Feirce was her growls, threatening was her bark. But not just that that attacts me. It's that with her around? No one can raise their voice at me! She will growl back at them. No violent gestures, she barks and treathens to bite. And sometimes, i think she knows our human language. When one throws out foul languages, even softly and gently, she too growls. Very obediant, toilet train. Recognises places around her... Place her somewhere else and she knows how to come back home, even know how to go to Granny's place!! Without our permission or acknowledgement of your existence not just to enter out home, you will definately not be allowed on our property. Not even a a toe.

Get a silky terrier!! Cheers to my pal!

P.S: A pomoraniam are territorial but very very temperamental. From my experience from looking after my friends dogs when they go overseas etc...

Cheers again to my best pal! Cheers to all!

a shepherd killed a 2 year old child yesterday in North Carolina- the child walked to a neighbors yard and was attacked- I think a gun is a better option.

on average, 1.5 children are killed every day by guns.

Go with the dog.

I have to agree... you can't trust my wife with scissors, much less a hand gun or pepper spray. Besides, how many handguns wake up and fire warning shots on their own in the middle of the night.

How about a Rhodesian ridgeback. I've owned and been around numerous purebreed dogs in my life and I believe that they are by far the best all around dog on the planet. Males get to around 90 lbs and they are considered sight hounds who were breed in Rhodesia to hunt lion. They can run like the wind and are very protective of their owners. They only bark when something is seriously wrong so you don't get those annoying dogs who bark at every noise. The best thing is they can just as easily sit in the sun for hours or go for five mile run.

Most people are afraid of them from the start because the hair along their backbone grows backwards(ridgeback) and looks as if they are always on alert. They are not as prone to hip displasia as most larger dogs.

I've personally seen a male knock down a full grown buck. He didn't harm it, he just wanted to play.

One thing no matter what dog you get make sure that you do not allow the dog to run on blacktop, cement, gravel or any other hard surface. This will lead to very large vet bills. One last thing look into vet insurance. Especially for their first year. I pay $40.00 month for two dogs which covers almost everything and saves me from having to put down my dog because of financial reasons.

If you want a guard dog that will scare the hell outta anybody, get her a Fila Brasilero. It's a brazilian guard dog, the size of a great dane with the head of a pit bull. Absolutely hands-down world's scariest dog behind a chain link fence barking at ya....Very loving, docile but VERY protective of the owners. As for buying dog chow I suggest sam's club or costco....

vet insurance

Likit--Where did you get the vet insurance? That sounds like a great rate to me.

My $.02 goes for English Cocker Spaniels. We have two (both champions--my wife's thing; I fly, she shows dogs...); They both growl at me if I get into bed after her and get within 1' of her...

Not too ferocious looking, but they bark like crazy, awesome with kids and highly territorial....just have to lock them out of the bedroom at times...;)

my brother has two rottweilers. one female one male (brother and sister). they are very friendlywith relatives and friends. his are about as stupid as dogs get. they are very loyal to my brother and his wife. they make a lot of noise at everything. nobody will approach them without knowing the owners. they tend to get big and mean looking you just have to get puppies and show a lot of attention to them. my brothers dogs are a year old and the male dog is about 130 # on its way to about 180-190 # fully grown and the female is about 110# on its way to 140-150# grown. they are also very smart or else the police wouldnt use them for bomb sniffing and drug interdiction. they do need to be walked or exercised quite frequently. any other questions pm

If you want a dog that looks mean, but is a good pet, I would get a Rottweiler. If you want a dog that is tough, you should consider the Presa Canario. It's a cross between a Mastiff and a bulldog.
