The ground speeds I've seen the last few days flying in the East and North Central have been incredible!

Same Here. Eastbound has been terrific almost record breaking and westbound has been "like a heard of turtles crossing the road in TX".

Later

Flying down from FRG to RDU the other night had 150 knots on the nose and it took 2:20 in a CJ1 and it took 1:04 on the way back it was nuts

400kts over the ground headed southbound on Sat. in a 1900D.
220 indicated. pretty fun. Long trip back to the north. 55 kts in the climb out.. 160 indicated. watching cars go buy us on the freeway. priceless..
adios

Just curious how many jumpers missed the field? That's a good time jumping in winds like that:eek:

out of the "brave", or shall we call idiots, 8 jumpers...6 made it back. two of them turn base waaaay too late. one of the jumper's canopy folded-in because the winds were rolling off the line of trees

all it took was one load to call it the day...usually its a few till the dumbass' almost kill themselves

78mph indicated in a Chevy Cavalier. The GPS was out, so I couldn't get an accurate groundspeed reading.
