Hi all,
In my quest to further my career in the airlines I recently hired a professional resume writter. She did a really nice job for me. End result was I was hired with Southwest and am awaiting a class date. If you are going to an interview or job fair I highly recomend getting your resume up to speed. It will give you confidence that you have a good looking document to hand to the interviewers. She also provided help in finding a good interview prep.
I can't say enough good things about her sevices. I hope this helps you as much as it did for me.
Here is her info:

And TonyC is right...She IS cute!

Funkywinkerbean,

I plan to use her when I get enough flight time for it to matter. If you can do better why don't you start a resume service? I've walked the road of balking at things professional and its caught up with me. I'm don't see things that way anymore. It was me who was wrong, not everyone else. :p

I have in my e-mail inbox a pretty rude post from Funkywinkerbean.

Good call on the deletion.

ATR-DRIVR - - what'd you say to get yours deleted, too? PM me.

Kathy - - there's no question about it, you do good work. Don't let the peon detractors bother you.

I, too, was zapped

I guess he didn't want to go further on what constitutes a psychotic.

Three cheers for "psychotics" like Resume Writer.

I got the rude email as well. Kind of surprised as I was just trying to offer some good advice to the rest of the aviation community.

Did you offer a definition? Maybe ATR-DRIVR got you confused with me, or me with you, in the post he had zapped.

Was there a full moon last night, or what?

.

Kathy did resumes and cover letters for both my mom (manufacturing engineer) and my spouse (pilot). She did great work on all the products and I continue to refer her whenever I can.

She also sent me two great job leads last year when I was looking for a new gig. And, they were very good part 91, corporate leads!
Thanks Kathy!

Thanks everyone for your support. I guess I just have to remember to keep taking my psychosis medicine! :)

To say that I was shocked and saddened by someone who would post such disparaging comments is an understatement. I believe I know the source of this "trash talk" and it will be dealt with. I don't believe that this person is one of my clients. And if by chance it is, I would appreciate them being an upstanding person and dealing with me directly, instead of trying to hide behind a screenname to push their agenda.

If this person feels that I think "it is all about me," I would suggest that they really do a search on my almost 600 posts since February. I participate on this board because I have a love of aviation, I like to help people, and almost everyone is so receptive to my insight. I wish the general public were as open to the information that I provide on here as all of you are.

I do not require that people agree with my insight. I just put things out there as I see it. I help many of my clients long after they have paid for my services. My clients know that they can call me and ask me questions and I will certainly try to help if I can. I like to help people find their dream job. That is what gives me the inspiration to keep doing this profession! :)

Once again, thank you to everyone for your support. I am truly blessed that I have such wonderful people in my corner!

Kathy

Psychotic rerun

Here is the definition of "psychotic" that I found on Merriam-Webster Online and posted earlier today:

One entry found for psychotic.
Main Entry: psy·chot·ic
Pronunciation: sI-'kä-tik
Function: adjective
: of, relating to, marked by, or affected with psychosis <a psychotic patient> <psychotic behavior>
- psychotic noun
- psy·chot·i·cal·ly /-ti-k(&-)lE/ adverb

In that regard, I would say that it must take one to know one. :D

Kathy is a valuable resource to this forum. As I said in my zapped post, pilots, including myself, have fought the interview wars and have come home scarred and experienced. We have ideas. But Kathy sees its from the other side of the desk, as the H.R. professional. Receiving her side of the interview story, along with her encouragement in a bad pilot hiring market, can only be beneficial.

Kathy,

Don't let some obvious ignoramous get to you! As has been said by many here and other places, your services are invaluable to all who takes pride in presenting the best side of themselves! Remember the ignore function!!!
Patti says hi!

Thank you Kathy

Kathy,
After you made up my resume and cover letter I sent it out to my top three airlines that I wanted to work for, and then to 40 more just to see how many replies I would get. Within five business days one of my top airline choices had called along with four other 135 operators. This was a combination of phone calls and emails with invites to interviews. I got the job with the airline that I really wanted. This all happened the last week of July. I started training Aug. 2 and had my oral on the Aug. 31. I was headed to FL. for sim. and the hurricane hit when I was going to be down there and so they are rescheduled for Oct. 2. I have now been off for three weeks and have yet another off "paid". Just this week I heard for two more 135 companies. In all since the last week of July I have been invited to nine interviews. Thank you for everthing and I will be using you again to update the resume that you have already made for me. Sorry I did not get back to you earlier.

"Rude?" What was rude about it? It's just an opinion, guys - you don't keep yours to yourselves, I don't think I should have to either. Lighten up. Was there something sexist (ala, "The kitchen staff is now squawking" - posted by someone else on a different thread) or racist or even remotely abusive or inappropriate about my post? Whatever. And "peon detractors???" LOL. I'm not sure why your post wasn't deleted for your personal attack on me, however subtle.

I am glad that you have found Kathy's services helpful - congratulations. I don't have any experience with her or her products personally, but I am basing my opinions on what I have seen of her posts here, a rather unimpressive gathering of thoughts.

Calling someone "psychotic" without knowing what it means is uncalled-for and, therefore, inappropriate.

In case you missed it, I reposted the definition of same above.

And what would that be, Tony?
You slammed someone who spends an enormous amount of time here for the purpose of helping pilots. I am sure if you divided the time spent by the monetary gain McDonalds would most likely look like a great opportunity. Why is that hard for you to understand?
