Great career moves made by friends of mine I have seen during my career. Left Delta in 1968 to fly for Pam Am. Left North Central in 1973 to fly for Eastern, laid off 1974, never made Capt, while on strike at EAL, got hired by American, left American to go back to EAL in 1990. Left GM Corp Flight Dept to fly for Branniff in 1979. Plus as seen here on the old board tons of pilots who left SWA for UAL, DAL, AA etc. in 2000 and 2001. When you make a career move you never know if it was the right move for 5 years.

In this case they were all Navy pilots with college degrees, but less than great foresight.

You never know...maybe if they would have kept their previous jobs, they would have ended up getting maimed in a tragic car accident or getting killed in a mugging in the airport parking lot. Fate has a funny way of taxing your ass.
