I always carry a little food in my overnight bag..just incase we get in late and nothing is open. I heat my cans of chef boyardee by running hot water over them in the sink..if there is no microwave.
Power bars are good to keep handy as well.

How many times have you read an accident or incident report and thought, "gee, that was really dumb" or "what were they thinking." Well I use that to my advantage.
When I have to make a tough go/no go decision I imagine anything that could possibly go wrong and if I can imagine an accident investigator thinking "gee, that was really dumb" then I won't do it.
Thankfully, I don't have use this too much anymore, but it kept me alive for a couple of years in the wild, wild north (Canada = 3000' gravel strips, no wx info, an ndb if you're lucky, sometimes flare pots 'cause there are no runway lights).
I just found this one out. There is never a "quick flight." I had to take a piss the other day but I was running behind for my next flight and I thought to myself the flight was gonna be short so I'll just hold it. Well it turned out we had a gear problem and the flight took much longer than I expected.
