Any suggestions on how one might get to Grand Cayman cheaply and with a high level of confidence? I live in FL and can depart from just about anywhere.

I found a website that said you have to have a round trip ticket in order to be allowed into the country. Does that mean no jumpseat? ID90?

Thanks for sharing your time and experience.

I jumpseated ouf of CLT on usair down there late last june. I even got a first class seat:) I was wondering how it would work becaues I fly for a 135 cargo company. However, they were really cool. The only thing I had to pay was $40 bucks for taxes. I also took usair back.

There are ALOT of hotels that offer crew discounts year around. I was staying in a hotel that had a kitchen one block from the beach for $75 a night. I really didn't have time to shop around because I decided I was going there like eight hours before I was boarding the plane. So I am sure there are better deals to be found.

Enjoy Grand Cayman! The water down there is just unreal!

jumpseat

I've jumpseated to Grand Cayman on Northwest (from DTW). Worked fine. The immigration agent required that I have a hotel room booked before I would be let into the country. They just directed me to a phone book and a phone on the wall - within five minutes I had a hotel, and everything was fine.

Getting out was tough, because the flights were full. Make sure you have enough money to pay the departure tax. You might stop by the ticket counter when you arrive and ask how much it it.

It was a beautiful place...

Assuming you are 121. Cayman Airways will sell you an ID90 pass. It's pretty cheap. Hotels there are anything but cheap this time of year. Wait until July, Aug, and Sep. and it's off season.
I go about once a week, so PM me if you want some more info.
