Last winter I flew over the Grand Canyon. Spectacular!

But as most of you know the airspace above the canyon is pretty regulated.

I'm curious if there is some other landform out there that is just as (or maybe even more) spectacular than the Grand Canyon that does not have the heavy restrictions.

What is your favorite?

Thanks,

Greg

Not on earth...:(

There are a lot of other interesting items to see from the air. In my limited experience, flying the Hudson Corridor in New York is a real treat. As was Niagara Falls, Stone Mountain in GA, Space Center in FL.

I did Canyon flying for a summer too. But the place I'd recommend most (and you may have already done it) is Lake Powell and Monument Valley just northeast of the Canyon. Stop in Page, have one of the tour operators at PGA give you the frequencies and altitudes the tour operators use so you can stay out of their way. Get one of the pilots to show you where Rainbow Bridge is, a map of Monument Valley, and some other cool spots like Indian ruins.
Man, just flying low in the Lake Powell canyons is the coolest thing I've ever done.

The Copper Canyon, SW of Chihuahua Mexico is deeper than the Grand Canyon and fairly spectacular. No regulations that I know of like we have here in the US (well its been 4 yrs since I was there).
