Is anyone out there utilizing the GPS moving map capability in Jeppesen's Flight Deck? If so what units are you guys using?

I recently purchased a USB GPS from a local big box store and was never able to capture more than 2 satelites. I spoke to Jeppesen's tech support and they really don't have any specific recommendations.

Any advice that anyone has regarding this would be great.

Thanks.

I use a Socket Bluetooth gps, works fine. We originally had a wired usb gps that also worked, I do not recall the name of it though.

I would love to use the Bluetooth GPS, what unit are you using? The avionics guys are a little weird about the Bluetooth stuff. If you could find out which USB GPS you where using that would be great. Are you using it in the Beechjet? Is it able to see through the heated windshield with the heating elements?

We use two ADR efb's, one is a FG4000 with a bluetooth card and the other is the FG7000 with built in bluetooth. No problems with reception in the BJ windshield heat seems to have no effect on it.
The wired gps was a DeLorme Earthmate, do a google search for their website. I bought it at Best Buy though it came with a street map program.

I purchased the Delorme Earthmate GPS and it didn't work. It could find itself on the ground but never could re-establish a location in flight.

Diesel, Sabre are you guys using a suction cup to attach them to the window or just laying them on the dash. I'm a little nervous that the windshield heat wires might block it's view. My handheld GPS couldn't see through it...but it's a really old model.

No i just throw it on the dash. During turbulence its fun to watch it move from one side to the other. Should velcro it but nah.

I never had a problem with the DeLorme when we used it, went to Guatemala and back using it last year. The Bluetooth works equally as well no problems on the BJ with the windshield heat. I too just throw it on the glareshield and go, been in some hard weather and it never moved.

We use a Garmin GPS10 with bluetooth. It works great.
