With almost 40,000 signatures on the APSA Petition for hand guns in the flight deck, government officials, United Airlines Representatives and leading stun gun manufacturer, TASER International, met last week to discuss tests of the stun guns United plans to put in it's flight decks. UAL has purchased 1,300 TASER stun guns and has trained about a third of its pilots so far on how to use them. The government says it hasn't decided even whether to allow stun guns in the flight deck, something United was aware of even though they went ahead in the decision to obtain the devices anyway. The government's decision is expected sometime this week.
