Does getting the ATA app have any real significance? I know some companies only send out app to those they actually want to interview, and not to the general masses. Is ATA like this, and should I expect an interview so long as the info on the app is acceptable? Thanks....

hmm, think you got the wrong board, this is the SWA, JB, and on ocasion, the FEDEX kool aid board.

Good luck somewhere else.

ATA

Looks like the right board to me....

Skydog:

I talked to ATA at the lastest Air Inc fair. Mike their indicated that if you received an app that is a good sign. They only send apps out to those they feel are competitive based on their resumes.

I know of a few pilots that sent a resume in and received no app.

So, Congrats on your app. Don't blow off the essays, they are important.

FWIW I received an app a year ago and promptly sent it in, with the all-important essay questions carefully handwritten, and despite several follow-up letters and faxes, never heard from them again.

Same here. I sent mine in November, with handwritten essay questions. No word yet. Guess I didnt make the cut.
