Seriously, though: One of my FOs a number of years ago was their retired CP. Really cool guy and Goodyear took him all over the world. It sounded fun.

I heard it "third hand," but I've heard blimp pilots get paid "well," but do long trips (sometimes weeks).

I've also heard it's a lot of fun.

Can you imagine doing an ILS and being told to hold at least twenty knots to the runway?

Im going thru mil tng and my sim partner here interviewed with them - they conduct a phone interview, then informal one at the "blimpatorium" in CA and they don't discuss pay until the formal interview in Ohio. She didn't get hired but they did hire an Austrian girl sometime after...maybe that girl moved back home?

Had a buddy that flew the Fugi blimp, loved it. Lots of money. Mucho time away from home. Could back up and go sideways on the LOC/GS to correct.

Had a bud who owned a lawn mowing company during colllege and used to cut the grass at wingfoot lake (the base in Akron, OH). After a while he started talking with the pilots and they started letting him fly with them all the time. They would call him to do reposition flights with them and he has quite a bit of time in the Goodyear blimp. Last time I talked with him I think he met the requirements to get his certificate. He said it was alot of fun just slow. It counts as multi time, but I don't think he used it towards his 100 multi. But I believe it was a good interview topic, hmmm I see you have time in the "Spirit of America," tell us about that.
