Would anybody care to share some good feelings about flying, the aviation industry, or anything in general?

I'm in need of a reminder why the heck I'm talking people through flying an airplane from the right seat for pennies.

I guess I'm looking for a little faith that airplanes can bring joy and not just pain.

Is flying fun? Yes, it is just a completely different ballgame present day versus what it once was. Like any other job/profession this one does have it's postives and negatives. This industry is surely not what it once was nor will it ever be since most major airlines are bleeding rather profusely and just trying to survive on life support with a funeral director waiting on stby. You really must love this profession with a passion to make such a large financial sacrifice so early on just for that "shot" at success that you really don't know if/when it will ever come your way. Always have a backup plan that is in place so you can fall back on something should you be looking in from the outside unexpectedly.

You should not look for any "faith", "joy", etc, from others since in reality "YOU" are the one that needs to be happy and content with what you have chosen to do and make of yourself. If you are happy and enjoying what you are doing then everything else should be completely irrelevant in my opinion. The problems will start to occur when you allow outside people to start Influencing you and your decision making.

If you want it bad enough then go for it, life is nothing more than a gamble at best anyways considering none of us are even guaranteed a tomorrow let alone a easy ride that is all fun and games. Some would say the glass is half empty but others would say it is half full.

Expect the worst and smile when things turn out to be not so bad. . . A positive attitude is important but when you shoot for the stars and don't want to come up short it then becomes a reality check and an ego killer if you don't end up getting what you want so proceed with caution.:D

I will keep my personal opinions off this thread and to myself pertaining to what I would have done if I could go back and do it all over again.:D

If you are happy then go for it...

good luck,
