Nice to know that there is SOME good news in the world today!

CongRATs to our fomer swimmers in the SWA pool, yes - they are sitting in DAL RIGHT NOW, starting their careers with SWA!!

And guess what..... one of these days, the rest of us will be in the very same room, starting OUR careers!!!

With all of the gloom & doom in our industry these days, it is nice to see that there is a ray of sunshine in the sky.... nice to see that there is still an airline (or 2) with a proven business model that can create enough profits to expand and hire new employees.

Thank you Southwest Airline Co. for hiring me and staying the course for the last 32 years. Thanks for believing in yourself when others attempted to stop you and even more did not have faith in your vision. Keep it going so we can all be part of one of the best companies to work for in the USA!!

Hello Tred et al,

I've got my Pool Rat towel out! It's being put to good use mopping up tears of joy and relief. My feet haven't touched the ground in three days.

Thanks again for all your good wishes. We are enjoying our first week here very much. I got to meet LL and put a (very friendly) face to her name and friendly voice, as well as JB (nee JM), who shared lunch with my wife and three kids (I hope they were on their best behavior ), and all the other pool rats who made it here. Great bunch of guys!

I've gotta go study! Hang in there, rats. The last three days seem to have already made up for all 16 months in the pool.

tred -- Good luck and don't let the naysayers get you down. I know exactly how you feel, but won't go into any more detail explaining why. I'm tired of getting flamed for loving my job! The Kool-aid is pretty tasty stuff, regardless of the flavor. I know you guys have been waiting a long time for this opportunity and I'm glad for you all.
