You could say you have to attend a conference on this: http://commitment-phobia.com/

Good luck - nice work screwing over another cargo company...what is it, a six month commitment? Another outstanding representative of the aviation community...

WOW! Maybe NoPax should check this place out.... http://www.angercoach.com/

When I flew frieght, I made the commitment to myself to not job hunt for at least a year, so I got experience in all seasons, but I knew a guy who was getting calls for interviews his first week flying frieght. To each his own. If this guy has a better opportunity elsewhere, I say good luck! There are ALWAYS up and coming frieght dawgs!

good luck with the new job. The more people that move on the more incentive companies have to actually pay a decent wage.

Or on the other hand, if the pilots are only there for temporary work - waiting for the next BBD, then the company is more likely to treat the pilots as such. Training contracts, low pay, minimum benefits, etc. Some companies just aren't going to be able to offer great pay and benefits, flying the latest equipment, flying great schedules to exotic locations.

Tell them you knocked up a FA who is married to a SEAL. You need a few days off to get the abortion and then lay low to see if her husband is stalking you... ;) TC

Is it just me, or am I the only one cringing that professional pilots are trying to "work" the system - I say "work" when I really mean defraud. My father had a bad back from playing tennis professionaly for 25 years, and its no joking matter - the man's a cripple. My close friend who served in the military police, then LAPD, has a fused disc, and had to go 120k in debt because of idiots like you - he's going to be a cripple in another 10 years.

DROP A SACK, AND TELL THEM YOU ARE GOING TO NEED TIME OFF TO GO TO AN INTERVIEW BECAUSE YOU CANT HACK CARGO.

Some people just don't understand when they have a good thing going for them...stay the course, get some time (or a lot of time), before you move on to flying 120-200 hours a year in some cushy corporate job. Two thousand, even three thousand hours isn't competative, I'll only begin to rest with 5000 hours total, and a couple thousand jet PIC.

Everyone who knows me personally, knows that I don't need anger therapy!

I got furlought about 4 months ago and my previous company (that sucks) got me back. Because I was flying the same equipment, they varely spent any money on my in training.
A job is a job so of course I took it and I am grateful, but, it was time for me to move on two years ago and it is time for me to move on right now.
I can't split the days. It has to be 4 days in a row. Is one of those jobs abroad that gives you a two day Space Shuttle Medical.
The excuses are super funny but I haven't heard a real excuse! Come on! I am sure somebody, at some point, its been it the same situation that I have been. If not, you are lucky!
If I say I have to go an interview and is a hell of an opportunity to me....I am doomed!
Any ideas??

If they are the a$$holes you infer, call in sick (get the doc to write you a note and stay out 5 days).

Ever hear the phrase "no good deed goes unpunished"? Just about every single time I've tried to do the right thing and be honest and forthright with management, I've gotten hosed--big time.

NoPax will eventually learn... Or go into management. ;) TC

Heard this today...

I'd rather go hunting with Dick Cheney than be riding in a car going over a bridge driven by Ted Kennedy!

hahaha....

Yea, drowning would suck!!!

Just keep something in mind. If you get the job, you current employer will get PRIA paperwork from the company you inteviewed with. (Assuming the new company is a airline, not a corp gig) That paper work will have your signature on it along with the date you signed it. (the date you interviewed) Your present employer will find out you lied and may decide to share that info with your new company. They will not be impressed, and you may find yourself with no job.

Just somthing to think about.

Not *so* fast with FMLA. Your company has to have a minimum number of employees in order to use FMLA.

You are correct. They have to have at least 50 employees. An employee qualifies for coverage under the FMLA if he/she has been employed for at least one year and has worked at least 1,250 hours during that year. So, in this case, our original poster would not qualify for FMLA.
