Great places to eat down in Naples. Was just there a couple of weeks ago. I forget the street, but it's a couple streets parallel off the beach where there's a ton of trinket stores and shops with a nice stretch of some good restaurants.
Tried to make it to Marco Island but didnt have the time.
I lived there for 3 years, below are some of the local hangouts, good food without the tourist traps. Snook in is a touristy type restaurants, but probably worth it just so you can sit out on the deck and watch the boat traffic in the river.
Pelican Inn on Isle of Capri, get the grouper "wet plate", it is grouper cooked and covered in butter, ooooh its good but the cholesterol can kill you.
Little Bar, on Goodland
Grouper and Chips, in Naples
Noodles, in Naples
Stan's in Goodland. Bar that is very interesting during the weekend. Lots of "bikers", if you call a bunch of rich guys riding hogs bikers. Good bar, good people watching, good times......
As for fishing it depends on what you want to do. The deep sea fishing is OK if you know someone with a boat. I would not really recommend a charter for deep sea fishing, from what I have seen it is mostly small stuff that is not worth it. A good charter would be for backwater fishing. You could also go down to Everglade city and get a backwater charter there.
