I have heard stories of checkrides being done from the ground in the early days of the R-22. The examiners either didn't have alot of experience or were scared of the R-22. Never heard anyone claim it was kosher though.
 
Do you mean to tell me that you spoke to someone in the FAA and they didn't have a clue ??? I'm stunned ! :rolleyes:
